Event: Wednesday 14th June 2023 – NHS ConfedExpo Conference – Guest Speaker Patrick Vernon

NHS ConfedExpo Conference

Unlocking the NHS’s social and economic potential: deepening partnerships, supporting communities and maximising impact

Integrated care systems have a unique opportunity to support population health; tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access; and deliver meaningful and lasting impact for local communities. For many leaders, this ability to shape the conditions for a ‘good life’ was the reason they first came into public service. With both operational pressures and wider inequalities growing, how can we collectively deliver on this opportunity?

This session will hear a range of perspectives on how this agenda continues to both excite local leaders and challenge and change local practice, and how the establishment of ICSs presents a new opportunity, and indeed expectation, to further evolve our ambition and activity. Delegates will discuss how systems can build on the ‘anchor groundwork’ many organisations have laid to create influential and meaningful integrated care strategies and joint forward plans that make communities both better and better off . One year since ICSs became statutory, are we now starting to turn the dial?
