11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference Opens in Montego Bay
The 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference officially opened on 15 June 2026 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, bringing together Jamaicans from across the globe to strengthen connections and partnerships with the homeland.
Held under the theme, “Diaspora Partnerships: Re-Building a More Climate-Resilient Jamaica,” the conference focuses on harnessing the expertise, investment, and support of the Jamaican diaspora to advance national development and climate resilience.
The five-day event welcomes government leaders, business stakeholders, youth representatives, and development partners to discuss opportunities for collaboration in areas including sustainable development, entrepreneurship, innovation, infrastructure rebuilding, and youth leadership.
Key figures, including Senator Kamina Johnson Smith and Earl Jarrett, have highlighted the vital role of the diaspora in Jamaica’s continued growth and the importance of building stronger partnerships for the future.
The conference serves as a powerful reminder of the global Jamaican community’s commitment to supporting the country’s progress and creating a more resilient and prosperous Jamaica for generations to come.
