Hurricane Melissa Jamaica Relief Appeal

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, Jamaica faces unimaginable devastation — families uprooted, homes destroyed, and communities left reeling. As the island begins the long road to recovery, Friends of the Caribbean (FOTC) has launched an urgent Hurricane Melissa Relief Appeal to bring hope, aid, and relief to those most affected.

This initiative calls on the public to donate essential supplies and funds to help families rebuild their lives, reclaim their futures, and restore a sense of normalcy after such loss.

Urgent Call for Donations

Friends of the Caribbean is coordinating relief efforts from its Milton Keynes Collection Centre:

Donors are encouraged to drop off items as soon as possible to ensure timely shipment.

Priority Supplies Needed

The relief appeal urgently needs the following items:

Bottled water
Non-perishable foods (tinned corned beef, tinned fish, condensed milk, rice, flour, sugar)
Hygiene and sanitation kits (soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels, wipes, toilet paper)
Disinfectants
Clothing and shoes (clean, no winter wear or damaged garments)
Beddings (sheets, blankets, towels, sleeping bags, curtains)
Power supplies (flashlights, batteries, solar lamps, power packs)
First aid kits and mosquito repellent
Baby formula, pampers, adult diapers, nutritional supplements
Building materials (nails, ropes, tools, tarpaulins)

Every contribution, big or small, helps meet immediate needs on the ground.
