Event: Saturday 17 January, 2026-Emergency Meeting for Hurricane Melissa by South Wales Jamaica Society

The South Wales Jamaica Society has announced an emergency community meeting in response to the approaching Hurricane Melissa, bringing together local residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to coordinate support and preparedness efforts.

The meeting will take place on Saturday 17 January 2026, from 2.00–4.00pm, at the Sanatan Dharma Mandal & Hindu Community Centre, located on Lewis Road, Cardiff (CF24 5EB).

As hurricanes continue to pose serious risks to Caribbean nations and diaspora communities with strong ties to the region, the emergency meeting aims to provide timely updates, share verified information, and discuss how the local community in South Wales can respond effectively.

The meeting is sponsored by LAJ.com and MediaNet, whose support enables the dissemination of information and wider community engagement at a critical moment.
