Patrick Vernon OBE attends the Windrush Day Reception

On 22 June 2025, Britain marked the 77th anniversary of the arrival of HMT Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks, a defining moment in modern British history. Among those attending this year’s Windrush Day reception was Professor Patrick Vernon OBE.

This year’s reception also offered space to honour those who have passed away in the last year, trailblazers such as Alford Gardner, “Big John” Richards, Nadia Cattouse, Lord Herman Ouseley, Paul Stephenson, Gerlin Bean, and Neil Flanigan, among others.
