Beyond Futures: Creating Inclusive Communities
The University of Wolverhampton is hosting a landmark event as part of the Beyond Futures Festival 2025:
This in-person event brings together thought leaders, researchers, policymakers, and community advocates to explore how inclusive communities can be built through collaboration, partnership, and community engagement.
Event Highlights
The day will open with registration and refreshments, followed by a welcome address and a keynote session from Professor Patrick Vernon OBE, exploring “Beyond the System: Leadership, Inequality, and Co-Creation with Communities.”
The programme continues with a collaborative research and knowledge exchange case study, showcasing the partnership between Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture and the University of Wolverhampton.
A panel discussion chaired by Professor Laura Caulfield will then bring together a diverse group of voices, including:

Networking & Exhibitions
The event concludes with a networking lunch, exhibitions, and courtyard talks (12:00–13:40), offering hands-on engagement with projects across the region. Themes will include Inclusive Communities, Health & Medicine, Sports Science, Education, and Community Impact, with real-world examples of how collaboration can shape a fairer future.
