Black Minds Matter UK: Celebrating 5 Years of Impact and Advocacy
It was a pleasure to join Danielle Bridge and the team at Black Minds Matter UK to mark the organisation’s 5th anniversary and the launch of its Social Impact Report.
The report illustrates the critical role Black therapists continue to play in supporting individuals and communities navigating trauma, whether rooted in lived experience, structural inequality, or historical injustice. The findings reinforce what many in the sector have long understood: culturally competent mental health support is essential, not optional.
With the potential to inform the NHS Ten-Year Plan, Black Minds Matter UK is well positioned to contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery at both the neighbourhood and Integrated Care Board population health levels.
About Black Minds Matter:
Black Minds Matter UK is a registered charity dedicated to improving access to mental health support for Black individuals and families. The organisation connects people with free one-to-one talking therapy provided by qualified and accredited Black therapists. Through its growing network of committed professionals, Black Minds Matter UK works to dismantle stigma and reshape the therapeutic experience for Black communities. The charity operates around three core pillars: delivering therapy, raising awareness through education, and advocating for systemic change within statutory services.
