Integrated Care Delivery Forum Autumn

The success of the NHS 10-Year Plan will depend not only on internal reform but also on the effective integration of health and social care. However, with social care expected to face rising costs, workforce shortages, and increasing complexity of need, progress toward meaningful integration will remain uncertain without significant structural reform.

At the Integrated Care Delivery Forum: Autumn 2025, hosted by Public Policy Projects and supported by Tunstall Healthcare and Home Group, sector leaders will examine what is required to achieve sustainable, high-quality care.

Chaired by Professor Patrick Vernon OBE, the session will bring together Melanie Williams, Sarah Williams, Nadra Ahmed OBE, and Dr. Thomas Dodd to discuss the systemic changes needed to make integration work in practice.

The discussion will focus on five key areas:

Reform as a prerequisite for integration: Without addressing funding and workforce challenges, integration will risk remaining a policy ambition rather than becoming an operational reality.

Government priorities: The forthcoming commission on social care will need to deliver clear, actionable reforms that align with integrated care objectives.

Managing rising costs and complexity: As needs continue to grow, systems will need to identify scalable and efficient models for community-based care.

Collaboration across sectors: Strengthening partnerships between health systems, local authorities, and care providers will be essential to deliver coordinated, person-centred services.

Practical implementation: Success will depend on translating integration strategies into tangible benefits for people and communities, ensuring care remains both equitable and financially viable.

The session will conclude with a shared understanding that integration will not succeed without reform that empowers the social care sector as an equal partner to the NHS.
