Hurricane Melissa Disaster Relief: How You Can Help from the UK

In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, communities across Jamaica have been left devastated, with homes, schools, and essential infrastructure severely affected. The Jamaican High Commission in London, in partnership with the Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management (ODPEM), has launched a coordinated Disaster Relief Donation Drive to support recovery efforts on the ground.

Donations are now being accepted across London, the South East, the Midlands, and the North β€” but only new itemslisted on ODPEM’s official Needs List will be accepted. (Scan the QR code provided by ODPEM to check what’s needed most, typically items like non-perishable food, baby supplies, hygiene products, medical kits, and bedding.)

Every item donated brings relief to families rebuilding their lives after this disaster. Whether it’s basic toiletries, children’s essentials, or food supplies, your contribution will make a tangible difference to those most in need.

To ensure efficiency and safety, please donate only new items included on ODPEM’s official Needs List.

Let’s come together as a community across cities and backgrounds β€” to support Jamaica in this time of need.
