Strengthening Global Connections at the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference

The 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference brought together Jamaicans from across the globe to strengthen connections, explore investment opportunities and celebrate the enduring partnership between Jamaica and its diaspora.

One of the busiest exhibitors was the National Land Agency (NLA), where attendees sought guidance on land titles, property ownership and accessing digital services. The interest reflected a continued desire among overseas Jamaicans to invest in their homeland and stay connected to Jamaica.

Education and technology were also key themes. e-Learning Jamaica shared its vision of equipping every primary school with laptops, charging carts and interactive panels, while inviting diaspora partners to support broadband connectivity and help bridge the digital divide.

Investment remained at the heart of many conversations. VM Group highlighted a growing shift from simply purchasing homes to building generational wealth through real estate and other long-term investments. New digital platforms are also making it easier for Jamaicans overseas to access financial services and invest from anywhere in the world.

The conference also celebrated Jamaican enterprise and innovation. GraceKennedy showcased its popular food and beverage brands, while the Jamaica Trade Board encouraged entrepreneurs to explore export opportunities and expand into international markets through its digital resources.

Beyond business, the event recognised Jamaicans making a difference globally, highlighting the important contributions of diaspora leaders and organisations that continue to support Caribbean communities abroad.

From property and education to entrepreneurship and trade, the conference demonstrated the strength of Jamaica’s global network and the vital role the diaspora continues to play in the country’s growth, innovation and future prosperity.
