Let the Legacy Continue: Intergenerational Seminar Honouring Our Past, Shaping Our Future
On 15 September 2025, the University of Greenwich, in collaboration with the Caribbean Social Forum and funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, will host a special intergenerational summit titled “Let the Legacy Continue: Handing Over the Baton.” The event takes place at The Tramshed, Woolwich, London, and runs from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.
This free seminar provides a space for honest, empowering dialogue between elders, caregivers, and younger generations in the Caribbean diaspora. Its goal is to create meaningful connections, celebrate heritage, and plan for the future together.
Why This Event Matters:
The summit will explore the challenges of caring for aging parents while also preparing for our own future care, bridge generational divides through shared wisdom and lived experience, and preserve the rich heritage, values, and cultural identity of the Caribbean community. It will encourage practical preparation: legal, emotional, and financial while inspiring resilience and collective action to carry the legacy forward. More than just a conversation, it is a call to care, connect, and continue the legacy.
