Supporting Jason’s Family

Following Jason’s death, Sir Patrick with the family’s support has established the GoFundMe appeal to help contribute towards funeral, memorial and associated costs. The appeal is a simple call for compassion and solidarity at a time of profound grief.

Sir Patrick Vernon OBE has established a fundraising appeal, with the support of Professor Jason Arday’s family, to help with funeral, memorial and associated family costs following Jason’s sudden death at the age of 41. Sir Patrick was also one of the signatories to the public letter standing in solidarity with Professor Arday during the controversy surrounding allegations about his academic work and career.

Remembering Jason Beyond the Controversy

In the period before his death, Jason faced intense public scrutiny following allegations concerning aspects of his academic work and career. Jason disputed the allegations, which attracted significant media and social media attention.

Whatever views may be held about those controversies, they should not overshadow Jason’s humanity or his family’s right to grieve with dignity and privacy.
