Coronavirus is deepening racial inequalities: What needs to change?
This event will look at the disproportionate impacts of the coronavirus on women of colour. Structural racial inequalities and racism place ethnic minorities at much higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19, as well as experiencing harsher economic impacts from lockdown measures.
Black Lives Matter protests have further foregrounded racial inequalities affecting Black people. Urgent action is needed to address this injustice.
This event asks: How are different ethnic minority groups affected by COVID-19 and the lockdown? How are women of colour affected? What are the reasons for this? What needs to change now? And how can we build a better future?
