Professor Patrick Vernon Receives Prestigious Windrush Nation Award

Congratulations Professor Patrick Vernon, who was one of the recipients of a Windrush Nation Award at a Windrush Day Thanksgiving Gathering hosted by the Reach Society and held in London on Saturday, 22 June.

The judging panel selected Patrick for decades-long contributions to the Windrush Nation, also known as the UK’s modern Black community. Patrick’s contributions include successfully campaigning for 22 June to be recognised as a national Windrush Day.

The panel noted that Patrick showed no sign of stopping.
