This launch event features taster workshops on employability, social enterprise, and onto boards, building confidence.
We are joined by Professor Patrick Vernon OBE, Sam Obeng-Doyki, CIH President Lara Oyedele, and poet and community activist Shareefa Energy. We will hear from graduates from Olmec’s Rise Into Employment, First St.
Step Change is a holistic training programme for people from black and minoritised backgrounds in Brent, Barking and Dagenham looking to get back into employment, start a social enterprise or get involved in community leadership. A route for people from black, racialised and minoritised communities (BMC) into jobs, social enterprise and onto company and community boards.
The programme is open to people of colour including people of African descent, Asian descent, Latin American, Arabic, and dual and multiple heritage within Brent, Newham, Barking & Dagenham.
